La Belle Nouveau

This is a multi-layered image inspired by art nouveau. When I was working on my book 'The HeArt of Paris' I felt inspired by what I was writing. It started with 3 imaginary paintings and then I started painting portraits of real women who had lived in Paris during the evolution of art. This is an acrylic painting and I always include the use of palette knives when I create my art. If you zoom in you can see the rough effect. I very much enjoyed creating this painting. I’m calling her La belle Nouveau!
