Esperanza-Hope

This painting is part of a series of paintings created for a solo exhibition in the village of Frigiliana in southern Spain. This was in 2010. The artwork depicts a woman sitting in a sureal landscape. Incorporated into the painting are two sailing boats presenting wings, but also with the message to sail away to a horizon with a red moon. The red moon is a symbol of Isis, a Greek Goddess presenting the feminine creativity and sensuality. There is also another moon in this painting, a mandala. This is a surreal artwork and part of my series of Mandala Women. In this series I do not use a pallet knife, which I normally do use in most of my artworks.
