Teen online art classes with a difference for World/Home schooling teens!
In a world where we have to compete with, or use Artificial Intelligence it can be crucial to being able to think outside the box. And I believe that playing with your imagination by creating art can help with that. And it is fun too!
Why a special class for home schoolers?
I've been conducting art classes since 2006 and I've been teaching home schooling teens since 2017. I think this is a very special, international community and I love teaching these teens. Thanks to their travelling these teenagers are usually able to communicate in the English language, which is the language of my online class. I also feel they are very used to and open to peer learning!
WHEN Wednesday from 15.30 to 17.30 CET via Zoom. Sessions can be joined from anywhere in the world. Feel free to contact me directly for possibilities, as there is a minimum, but also a maximum number of attendees.

Special World / Home schooling teens price! Normally 80 dollars per 4 weeks, for this group, I offer a special price.
The online art classes are 20 € per two-hour session / 60 € for 4 weeks

If you have booked a 4 week class, please note that if you cannot make it to a class you will sadly lose your money. However, you can miss one class. So this means that you can 'consume' your 4 classes over a period of 5 weeks. The reason for this is that I like to keep the number of participants limited. And when a space is reserved by you I cannot give it to someone else on short notice.
If you prefer not to book for 4 weeks, but pay per class, that is also possible, but it depends on availability of space. Make sure to contact me for availability and pay in advance to reserve your space.

About the class
This a safe space for teenagers to be creative and interact with other teens, potentially from all over the world!
Classes take place via Zoom.
Who am I?
What will the teenagers learn? Teens can be on different levels, for example beginners or more advanced. Everybody will work on their own object of choice (which I will give advice on). Usually, during the first session, I will teach teens how to mix colours and how to not overmix, in order to create more organic textures and images. I will teach them that they only need five colours to create all the colours they could possibly want. So the investment in art materials doesn't have to be very high. Some children are able to finish a painting in one session, some take longer and that is fine too. My objective is to give them some tools to express themselves creatively with the use of colours. They will learn about different painting techniques and I encourage them to find a style that they are comfortable with. Although I believe that free expression in painting (also abstract if you like) is very good, I also believe that before you can do this, it is good to know what colours do and how you can use different tools and most of all have fun in the process.Online class
Teens will of course learn how to set up a painting, following an example, which helps to develop their observation skills.
They can also receive information about different materials to use (such as canvas, paper, types of brushes etc.), about perspective, shading, use of colours and how you can use different brushes and/or pallet knives.
I will introduce learning from famous artists in the past. In a playful way, under my guidance, teens will discover different art styles and will learn about international famous painters by looking at and getting inspired by their work. This is not about teaching art history, just a chance to observe, admire or perhaps even dislike what other painters throughout history have created.
As an artist I love to share my experience, expertise and knowledge with my students. It was an interesting surprise to me to see that teens who participate in an international art class, during the months that they joined my class, were able to discover their creative talent and this in some cases even meant they became more confident in their day-to-day life.
The class is a safe space for teens to be who they are. Bullying or negative interactions will not be allowed, but in my experience this doesn’t even happen. When working on a piece of art, which is also very calming for the brain, kids often feel safe to share who they really are.
The key for me to make this a special place is that we will all try to focus on the positive side of art and life!
